Our little guy who used to be afraid to leave the house and would bark his head off at children playing outside is now able to confidently go on walks, pay attention to us instead of stressors, and be his goofy self.
We are SO grateful to Karen for her support of our journey with our reactive rescue dog!! What we loved most was her ability to break down long-term behavioral changes into manageable, short-term steps that each made sense on their own. I was initially skeptical about some of the strategies, partly because I felt like my dog was a bit of a lost cause, but they really build on each other and create a comprehensive approach to building communication and trust with your dog. I (semi-jokingly?) call her my “dog therapist.” She really trains the humans, including having faith in the dog’s ability to grow and learn and celebrating small wins.
The results have been incredible – our little guy who used to be afraid to leave the house and would bark his head off at children playing outside is now able to confidently go on walks, pay attention to us instead of stressors, and be his goofy self.
